George Docherty (1958)
George Docherty preaches a sermon at the Appalachian Preaching Mission (APM) on Monday, February 10, 1958. Docherty preaches on what Christians have that others do not, and how that difference can influence non-Christians to go to church. Preceding the sermon, APM music director Rev. Dean Jacoby leads the congregation in "Great is Thy Faithfulness."
George Docherty was pastor of New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. and became well-known when he started the movement that added the words "under God" to the Pledge of Allegiance.
In the sermon, Docherty references Revelation 1:5-6.
